Male Lion at Sunset

"The late-afternoon sun is beginning to burn a hole through the clouds. We observe as they do what lions do best - relax. They begin to move and we pursue them. At the bottom of the hill we watch as they join two others - one female, the other, a glorious male sporting a thick mane of coarse black hair. We approach again, this time within ten feet - they are directly in our path. The sun has now burst through, drowning everything in deep shades of crimson. Basking in the golden glow, they watch us as we watch them - their eyes set ablaze with light. This is the grand finale to a trip that has scarcely begun. It leaves us exhilarated, longing for more."
